Open Date: Wednesday, 15 December 2021 6:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Close Date: Friday, 21 January 2022 5:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Tender Type: Notice of Information (Advance Notice) (NOI) Tender Coverage: Sole Agency Regions: Southland Required Pre-qualifications: None Overview: Invercargill City Council wishes to advise the market of its intention to publish a tender in late January 2022 for the Branxholme Water Supply Main Pipe Lay Contract No. 885. The Branxholme Water Supply Pipe replacement Project is made up of three separate contracts: • Contract 949 - The Pipe Supply and Long Lead items of which the majority of supplies have been procured. • Contract 884 - Design and Build Contract: Drill Shot under the Waikiwi Stream and Waihopai River - contract has been let. • Contract 885 - Main Pipe Lay contract including the link-ins, rider mains, commissioning and decommissioning works. THIS PIECE OF WORK The works include replacing a 7 km section of 600 mm pipe between Pomona Road West and the Waikiwi Water Reservoir in Meyers Reserve as well as installing a new 3.5 km section of 600 mm pipe between the Waikiwi reservoir and the City water tower on Gala Street. Construction work is set to begin around July 2022. The expected completion date is mid-2024. This renewal will improve the resilience and redundancy of our current network, ensuring the continued supply of clean and safe drinking water to the city. This will be completed under a traditional build contract, the Main Pipe Lay scope will include the link-ins, rider mains, commissioning and decommissioning works.
