An RFI is a formal way to engage the market and Kāinga Ora will continue to explore ideas, solutions, and innovation with respondents to this RFI after it has closed. Project Background and Overview Kainga Ora own approximately 430 homes that are not connected to public drinking water supplies. These properties are located throughout New Zealand, and have water supplied through bores (23%), rainwater (73%), or surface water (less than 1%). Kainga Ora need to ensure its tenanted properties have a supply of water that meets drinking water standards under the Government-s current water reforms. Many of these properties currently have water treatment systems installed, but the systems are not necessarily to a consistent standard, as many of the properties were purchased with them already installed. A programme to install consistent water treatment systems to properties on non-public water supplies has been endorsed, and water quality tests are currently being undertaken on a sample of these properties, the tests are biological and chemical and are based on a typical domestic drinking water testing suite. The results from the water tests will be used to determine the best treatment system(s) to install at the properties. It is the preference of Kainga Ora that the design, supply and installation of these systems is managed by one supplier across various sites throughout New Zealand. Kainga Ora are seeking information as to whether this is achievable and whether there are interested parties in this type of arrangement. The three stages of the project and estimated timeframes: Stage 1: Condition survey of non-reticulated water and drinking water systems(contracted and completed) Stage 2: Raw water quality testing at properties on non-public water supply, to provide data for a drinking water treatment supplier to design, supply and install treatment solutions tailored to the test results (contracted to commence December 2021) Stage 3: Fit-for-purpose water quality treatment systems installed where required (this procurement) All submissions and queries must be made via Tenderlink.
