Tender Type: Request for Proposals (RFP). Region: Gisborne Overview: The Gisborne District Council are seeking a lead contractor with the capability, capacity, and experience to deliver the remediation of the identified highest-priority seawall sites on Beach Rd, Tokomaru Bay under a Measure and Value contract. The northern section of Beach Rd, Tokomaru Bay has been subject to several blow outs over recent years resulting from storm activity and degradation of existing coastal protection measures. Several emergency measures have been undertaken over time with rock riprap primarily used as a remedial response, some of which has been formally designed and some more informal designs employed in places. There are a variety of older coastal protection types employed along the coastline with vertical concrete structures being the more dominant structure type, albeit with rip-rap remedial works being employed in front of some of the failed structures. Recent storm events have resulted in several drop out sites and the condition since that time has continued to deteriorate. The proposed remediation methodology includes both rock riprap/revetments and the EcoReef system.
