Tender Type: Request for Tenders (RFT). Region: Gisborne. Overview: Cyclone Gabrielle struck the Gisborne Tairawhiti region in February 2023, followed by a further rain event in June 2023 (the North Island Severe Weather Events), causing significant and widespread damage to bridge and road infrastructure, including a multitude of slips and dropouts. The programme of works has now transitioned from emergency-based works in the immediate to short-term aftermath of the North Island Severe Weather Events to a recovery and rebuild phase. This next phase will take place over a medium term of one to three years. GDC has current work programmes planned, alongside future work programmes for additional recovery and rebuild works planned for the next three-year period, in accordance with GDC-s Long-Term Plan (together the Recovery Remediation Work Programmes). One of the work programmes, the Bridge Rebuild Programme, includes the re-build of the St. Leger Bridge over the Hangaroa River which is due to commence in the third quarter of 2025. GDC requires a Contractor who has the expertise, experience and resources to cost-effectively, efficiently and safely construct the replacement St. Leger Bridge, within budget and programme. The Contract Works includes: · Construction of the bridge - a three-span steel girder and made composite structure, 86m in length and 4.82m wide. Abutment beams are supported on two reinforced concrete piles. The bridge piers comprise two reinforced concrete piles with a pier head in a portal frame arrangement. · Realignment of approximately 400m of Ruakaka Road and associated civil works, including earthworks, pavement, surfacing, stormwater drainage, signage, pavement markings, and miscellaneous ancillary works.
