Open Date: Wednesday, 22 December 2021 9:00 AM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Close Date: Wednesday, 2 February 2022 12:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Tender Type: Registration of Interest (ROI) Tender Coverage: Sole Agency Regions: Gisborne Required Pre-qualifications: None Overview: Gisborne District Council (Council) in partnership with mana whenua Maraetaha Incorporated is seeking Registrations of Interest for the reforestation of the Puninga Block at Waingake. Council is seeking Registrations of Interest from companies or organisations with an interest in facilitating reforestation of this land in a way which balances the most appropriate use of the land with the potential to generate future income for all partners. There are opportunities for: • production forestry • manuka honey production and/or pharmaceuticals • recreational/tourism • a combination of the above or other viable options the Respondent may propose Council is looking to enter into a Profit-a-Prendre or similar partnership agreement with a suitable Respondent, whereby Council will make land available for planting, and the Respondent will carry out all reforestation and associated works. We are seeking a partner with a track record of establishing and managing forest land on a large scale. Respondents must demonstrate their capability to deliver all aspects of forest management, including: • Sourcing plants • Pre-planting land preparation (including weed control) • Planting • Ongoing maintenance and forest management (expected tending programme)
